Magnesium has three naturally occurring isotopes with masses of 23.99 amu, 24.99 amu, and 25.98 amu and natural abundances of 78.99%, 10.00% and 11.01% respectively. How do you calculate the atomic mass of magnesium?

Hi there ,,,
● Each isotop has a share in the atomic mass calculated as the following
¤ Mg23 = 23.99 × 78.99 ÷ 100
= 18.94 amu
¤ Mg24 = 24.99 × 10.0 ÷ 100
= 2.499 amu
¤ Mg25 = 25.98 × 11.01 ÷ 100
= 2.86 amu
¤ The atomic mass of magnesium is
18.98 + 2.499 + 2.86 = 24.399 amu
