Drying agents are a type of chemical substances which absorbs the moisture from it's surrounding's environment.Basically hygroscopic substances are known as the drying agents.
Similarly magnesium perchlorate is also a hygroscopic substance which heavily absorbs the moisture from it's surrounding's environment and dissolves the water in itself.
