Based on the magnetic effect of current or electromagnetism, the important questions are:
1. How to detect polarity of solenoid, in which a current carrying wire is coiled?
2. Applications of electromagnet: An electric bell, relay: Working of an electric bell.
3. How to make a Horse shaped and I shaped electromagnet?
4. What is solenoid?
5. How to find north and south polarity and direction of magnetic field lines in (a) Straight wire (b) circular wire carrying current.
6. DC motor: Application, Functioning, what is the function of split rings or commutator, why is carbon brush used, Fleming's Left Hand rule.
7. AC generator: Functions, principle(electromagnetic induction), Fleming's right hand rule, Lenz law, Faraday's law.
8. Transformer: Principle (electromagnetic induction ), Step down and step up, reason for more turns in primary coil (for a step down transformer, reason for more turns in secondary coil (in a step up transformer), applications of transformer, why doesn't a transformer work with DC current?
