The Earth’s rotation give them circular motion while the electric currents develop in spiral eddies of liquid iron generates magnetic field. This process is called geo-dynamo. This magnetic field of earth is effective outside of Earth’s surface for quite a distance hence it acts as a protective shield against solar winds coming from sun and region which is surrounded by magnetic field is called magnetosphere which is caused by the Earth’s rotation
