it is a convex mirror because the image produced is always virtual and erect and of diminshed size that is the image produced in convex mirror is always smaller than 1

Since the magnification is positive and it is the ratio of height of image to the height of object. Hence the image formed is virtual and erect image.

Also magnification is less than 1 and hence the image formed is not the enlarged one and is a diminished image.

From different object positions of concave mirror we know that only when object is placed between pole and focus then virtual image is formed but the image formed is enlarged and hence it cant be concave mirror.

For convex mirror the images formed are virtual and diminished and hence it is convex mirror.
