We have to find the magnitude and direction of force acting on a boy of mass 25kg sitting on the floor of a train which is accelerating with 1.5 m/s².

Solution : a boy is in non inertial frame of reference (i.e., accelerating train) so we can't use Newton's law so we have to convert it into inertial frame of reference. For it, apply pseudo acceleration on boy magnitude of which is as same as magnitude of acceleration of train but direction are just opposite to train.

so force acting on the boy = ma

= 25kg × 1.5 m/s²

= 37.5 N

Direction of force acting on the boy is just opposite of direction of force acting on the train.
