Magnitude in physics refers to the quantity it possesses. In other words the capacity of the quantity. Suppose Its given that Force vector is represented by, 3i+4j . Here the vector shows the force, this equation has embedded information, meaning it speaks of its direction and its capacity or quantity of force in other words. The magnitude of the above is given by (whole root of) 3 square to 4 square, giving 5 Newtons (SI unit force) . Hence magnitude refers to the capacity or the amount or quantity, or however u would like to put it similar to this! :)
