Akka Mahadevi as poet:

Akka Mahadevi was one of the first female poets of the Kannada literature and a protruding person in the Lingayatism group of Hinduism in the twelfth century.

Her 430 extant Vachana poems and the two brief writings called Mantrogopya and the Yogangatrividhi are measured as her most prominent contribution to Kannada literature.

She wrote fewer poems than other saints of the movement.
