Hey, ✋ there is your answer_____________,
⏩ Answer : The Mahalwari system was introduced in 1882 by an English man called Holt Mackenzie. It was started in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Central India, the North-West province and parts of Punjab.
'Mahal' means a village or an estate. Under this system, collectors went from village to village to inspect village and measure the fields. They recorded the customs and right of different groups. The estimated revenue of each plot within a village was added up to the calculate the revenue that each village (Mahal) had to pay. This demand was not permanent. It was revised periodically. Instead of Zamindars, the head man of the village was given the charge of collecting the revenue and paying into the Company.
