In Uttar Pradesh, there is a small place 'Bithoor' located 28 km away in the northwestern direction of Kanpur.

This is where Valmiki's ashram is, where he sat and composed the Ramayana. In this same ashram, Sita gave birth to two sons named Love-Kush.

This ashram is maintained at a very high altitude. Therefore stairs have been made to reach here. These stairs are called stairs to go to heaven. Local people also call it 'Sarg Nasni'. It is said that a beautiful view of the whole of the hill can be seen from the last stairs of this ashram.

There are three temples in Valmiki Ashram. One of these temples is Valmiki himself, in which his statue is. They are sitting in the currency of Padmasana and have been writing in the right hand. By staying here, he composed the Ramayana. The statue of Lord Vishnu is established with them, where Lord Vishnu is in the currency held in the conch, chakra, gada and the Padma.
