His real name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and he was born in porbandar, Gujarat on 2nd October.
While growing up, he was deeply influenced by the actions of his parents.
Gandhiji himself wore a cotton Dhoti which was made by hand. This choice of GandhiJi inspired people across India. They started to boycott clothes and all things made by British.
Mahatma Gandhi played an important role during the Indian freedom struggle.
