According to Mahatma Gandhiji he told that if untouchability was not eliminated from the society then Swaraj could not come for a hundred years and also for a long period of time Gandhiji call the untouchables giving the title harijans which means Children of God. In fact for the security of the untouchables to enter into the temple or access other public Wells tanks Road extra Gandhiji organised Satyagraha.
