Answer:

He will get 5 paper cuttings

Step-by-step explanation:

Lenght of paper = 7 1/2 cm

                          = 15/2 cm

Lenght of each piece = 1 1/2 cm

                                  = 3/2 cm

Number of pieces he get = 15/2 divide by 3/2

                                         = 15/2 * 2/3

                                         = 5

So, he will get 5 paper cuttings.

Thank-you!!

Hope it helps u..

Given:

Mahesh makes small paper cuttings of length 1\frac{1}{2}cm from a paper of length 7\frac{1}{2}cm.

To Find:

The number of paper cuttings he can make.

Solution:

Length of the paper cutting Mahesh is making =1\frac{1}{2} cm

Converting it into an improper fraction =\frac{3}{2} cm

Length of the paper =7\frac{1}{2} cm

Converting it into an improper fraction \frac{15}{2} cm

The number of paper cuttings he can make out of it is equal to

   \frac{15}{2} /\frac{3}{2}

=\frac{15}{2} *\frac{2}{3}

=5

Hence, the number of cuttings he can make is equal to 5.
