Mangoes used to make pickles = 40%.
Mangoes used to make pickles = 162 Kg.

Let the total number of mangoes bought be x

By condition,
x \times  \frac{40}{100}  = 162 \\ x \times  \frac{2}{5}  = 162 \\ 2x = 810 \\ x = 405
Therefore 405 mangoes were bought.

Step-by-step explanation:

Mangoes used to make pickles = 40%.

Mangoes used to make pickles = 162 Kg.

Let the total number of mangoes bought be x

By condition,

\begin{gathered}x \times \frac{40}{100} = 162 \\ x \times \frac{2}{5} = 162 \\ 2x = 810 \\ x = 405\end{gathered}

100

40

=162

5

2

=162

2x=810

x=405

Therefore 405 mangoes were bought.
