Mahesh took a wire of length 44 cm and bent it into the shape of a
circle. Find the radius of that circle. Also find its area. If the same wire is
bent into the shape of a square, what will be the length of each of its
sides? Which figure encloses more area, the circle or the square?
(Take π = 22/7)

Answer:

Circumference of circle = 44cm

Radius of circle = r

A.T.Q :

circumference = 2πr

44 = 2 x 22/7 x r

44 x 7/2 x 22 = r

7cm = r

Area of circle = πr²

= 22/7 x 7x7

= 154cm

Perimeter of square = 44cm

Length of each side = 44/4 = 11cm

Area of square = side x side = 11 x 11cm

= 121cm

Thus , circle encloses more area
