Mahendra calls ghost or spirit as told by his cook Iswaran, as a figment of his imagination. Even though he tells that ghosts and spirits do not exist , he himself becomes a victim of such imaginative beliefs. On one full moon night, he suddenly woke up to some faint sound. He initially thought it was a cat mellowing but then when he saw some form of a white image he was startled and gripped with fear because he thought it was the ghost that iswaran talked about. Everything that Iswaran was telling about spirits and ghosts came to his mind and disturbed him so much that he decided to transfer from that place.
