The Government of Telangana started the project ‘Haritha Haram’, with the objective of planting trees on a large scale and thereby increasing green cover of Telangana state by 24% to 33%. It was launched in 2015 by the Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The project also includes rejuvenating degraded forests and greening of wastelands.
Among the several slogans of ‘Haritha Haram’, two main slogans are ‘Don’t let our future dry up’ and ‘Protect our earth today, for our children’s tomorrow’.
