MAIN CONSTITUENT OF DETTOL

=> chloroxylenol

=> terpineol

HEYA MATE

The major component in Dettol which imparts the antiseptic properties is chloroxylenol( $C<sub>8</sub>H<sub>9</sub>ClO).$ It is an aromatic chemical compound comprising of 4.8% of the mixture, with the rest made up by pine oil, isopropanol, castor oil, soap and water.
