When the riots and strikes broke out in Petrogard, Russia over the scarcity of food, the February Revolution started in 1917.

The main events that lead to the revolution are:

# People lost faith in the leadership ability of czarist regime.

# The government corruption in Russia was rampant and the economy went backward.

# Russian troops were ill - equipped.

# Russian was no where equal to Germany in Industrialization.

# Russian economy was economically weak due to war and hence people joined the radical elements to overthrow the Czar.

People were outraged and Nicholas abdicated the throne from Czars which ended the rule of Czars for 4 centuries in Russia.
