The main features of French Constitution of 1791 are as follows.
1) The constitution of 1791 was great step forward in the French history. France became a constitutional monarchy.
2) Concentration of power gave place to separation of powers between legislatures, executive and judiciary.
3) The legislative assembly was to be indirectly elected by the men above the age of 25 years. Those who belonged to high bracket of tax payers, got the right to vote and to get voted.
4) Feudal privileges were abolished.
5) The nobility and clergy were stripped off of their privileges.
6) Church was nationalized and people were guaranteed the religious freedom.
7) Most importantly the constitution adopted the Declaration of the Rights of Men and Citizens. These rights belonged to each human being by birth and could not be taken away.
