The main occupation of the people living in the Ganga- Brahmaputra basin is Fishing. People practice fishing on a daily basis. As the soil in the Ganga- Brahmaputra basin is very fertile, people also practice agriculture which is also a main occupation. Rice cultivation is done as the Ganga- Brahmaputra plain is fertile as well as water is also available in huge amounts.
