Here are few features of Western Coastal Plains :
- These plains are sandwiched between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea.
- They are very narrow as compared to the Eastern coastal plains.
- The plains consist of three sections, Konkan in the North, Kannad in the middle and Malabar in the South.
- They have a number of ports because of the highly indented coastline.
- They get heavy rain during the monsoon due to the Western Ghats causing orographic rain.
