Answer:

Biomes are very large ecological areas on the earth's surface and each has its fauna and flora that has adapted to their environment. Terrestrial biomes or land biomes are distributed throughout the earth. These biomes differ in their climate, vegetation, and animal life. The six major land biomes are rainforests, deserts, tundras, grasslands, taiga and temperate deciduous forests. Each biome differs in weather, latitude, topography, relative humidity and amount of sunlight.

The geographical distribution of the tundra biome is largely poleward of 60° North latitude. The moist-cool, transcontinental coniferous forest that makes up the Taiga biome lies largely between the 45th and 57th North latitudes. The tropical rainforest occurs in a broad zone outside the equator. Moving from the equator to the North pole, the biomes found are tropical rain forests, temperate grasslands/cold desserts, boreal ( taiga )and Artic (tundra). Thus, the correct answer is option A.

  1. Tropical RainForest
  2. Alpine Region
  3. Desert
  4. Himalayan Region

The correct option is (A) - (I-II-IV-V).

  • The formation of biomes is caused by annual variations in temperature and precipitation (including both snowfall and rainfall) caused by our planet's rotation, revolution, and tilt in its axis.
  • Within biomes, local and regional variations can occur.
  • Local and regional biome variations can result in the formation of various types of habitats.
