Major Dhyanchand who is known as  'The Magician' or 'The Wizard' of hockey.He was born in 29th August 1905 in Allahabad (Now Prayagraj,Uttar Pradesh)of British India. His birthday, 29th August, is celebrated as National Sports Day in India every year.He is the highest goal scorer in the history of Hockey,he is having more than 400 goals during his international career.The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of 'Padma Bhushan' in 1956.
