Surface water pollution::

❥ The pollution that occurs on the surface water like rivers , lakes , lagoons and oceans.

a) Sewage ::: Pouring the drains and sewers in fresh water bodies causes water pollution

b) Synthetic detergents ::: Synthetic detergents used in washing and cleaning produce foam and pollutes the water.

c) Industrial effluents ::: Industrial wastes containing toxic chemicals , acids , alkalis ,metallic salts , phenols , cyanides , Ammonia , radio active substances are the sources of water pollution.

d) Agrochemicals ::: Agrochemicals like fertilizers and pesticides washed by rain water and surface run-off pollute water.

e) Oil ::: Oil spillage into sea water during drilling and shipment pollute it

f) waste heat ::: waste heat from industrial discharges increase the temperature of water bodies and affects distribution and survival of sensitive places
