India's languages, religions, dance, music, architecture, food, and customs differs from place to place within the country. The Indian culture, often labeled as an amalgamation of several cultures, spans across the Indian subcontinent and has been influenced by a history that is several millennia old.
The main aim of our culture has always been an integral development culminating into self-realization. It has always sought a spiritual destiny through the world. Indian culture has always looked to the world as a synthetically arranged moral order.
We are proud of our cultural heritage. We trace its history through the age and glorify its strength to face all the odds. We lavish our praises on those mighty heroes of our country who fought and struggled for its survival – Chandragupta, Prithivi Raj, Maharana Pratap, Shivaji etc. – who were our great fighters for the cause of retaining our ancient culture in the face of the grimmest challenges. The torch bearers of the War of Independence in 1857, Nan Sahib, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Tantya Tope, Bahadur Shah and thousands of other martyrs since then are our eternal source of inspiration.
The present age in India is an era of cultural revival. Since we are now free, India is trying hard to maintain her cultural heritage and to enrich it further. Old monument of our cultural greatness is being once again given luster to India has to maintain her cultural heritage at every cost – even at the cost of our lives.
Free India is a successor to a glorious past. It is our great responsibility to prove ourselves worthy to the same tradition. An integral and dynamic approach to a faith in universal Brotherhood, a longing for peace and prosperity everywhere and an aspiration for spiritual destiny of mankind is a message of Indian culture to the world. Our cultural force in the past was acknowledged by the peoples of entire world.
Although we must preserve our traditional culture and hug with all our passion, yet we must have some consideration for enriching our culture by having contact with other great cultural forces of the world. Contact with the outside world is necessary for the enrichment and advancement of our culture.
