During the first world war the British urged the Congress even the Gandhiji asked the Gujarathi peasants to follow the British to win swaraj. But the movements like Rowlatt Act,Kilafat Wrongs and Jallianwala Bagh Tragedy greatly disillusioned Gandhiji and he turned from a cooperater to a non cooperate and started a movement known as Non-cooperation movement.
