Indian Constitution Article 370 gives special status to Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) which means IOK has its own independent constitution from India and National flag.

Why was article 370 implemented back in history?

Article 370 of the Constitution of India was made in history due to clause 7 of Instrument of Accession (a legal document used at time of separation in 1947 by British rulers) signed by Maharaja Hari Singh which stated that Kashmir could not be forced to follow any future constitution of India.

Article 370 is suspended through presidential orders by President Ram Nath Kovind except for clause 1 on August 5, 2019 which means the Indian Constitution is now applicable to IOK

What are the effects of the abolition of article 370 on Jammu and Kashmir?

Though Kashmiris are one step backwards in pursuit of freedom for IOK yet mainly, abolition of article 370 will enable Kashmiris to get government jobs and outside Indians to buy land in IOK.
