The comparison between bacteria and algae are :

1. Bacteria are the prokaryotes, that is, their organelles do not have outer membrane. Whereas the fungi fall under the category of eukaryotes.

2. The bacteria's cell wall consists peptidoglycan as its constituents but the cell wall of algae has constituents such as cellulose, silicates, calcium carbonate, carrageens, etc.

3. In the cell of bacteria, nucleus is absent whereas it is present in the cell of algae.

Comparison of bacteria and algae is as follows:

  • Bacteria is made of one cell but an algae is made of multiple cells.
  • Bacteria needs moisture, warmth, nutrients but water, chlorophyll, carbon dioxide, sunlight and a proper environment are needed for algae to grow.
  • Bacteria causes diseases by pneumonia, TB, food poisoning, cholera etc. Algae produces toxin which can harm dogs, livestock and human.
  • Naturally, Hydrozen peroxide kills algae but garlic, lemon, coconut oil, turmeric etc kill bacteria.
