Answer:

Both these yagna are rituals performed by kings who follow the Vedic religion. Both yagnas involve sacrifice, but the incidents leading to it and the kind of sacrifice done differ. Hence the purpose and inference of the yagna is different in both cases. Rajasuya is a king's inaugural sacrifice.

Answer:

Explanation:Rajasuya gives access to heaven as a member of Indra's court whereas 100 Ashwamedhas can even give the post of Indra himself!

The horse-sacrifice is performed only in Ashwamedh & not in Rajasuya.

Conquering the world is essential for both the sacrifices. While in Rajasuya Digvijaya should happen prior to the sacrifice,In Ashwamedha the horse should roam all over and return safely with its protector.

Rajasuya in Mahabharata

Mahabharata describes the Rajasuya sacrifice of Harischandra through Narada in Sabha Parva.

. Mounted alone upon a victorious car adorned with gold, Harischandra by the prowess of his weapons brought the whole earth with her seven islands under his sway.

And having subjugated the whole earth with her mountains, forests, and woods, he made preparations for the great sacrifice called the Rajasuya.

So the first step in doing Rajasuya is conquest of the earth.

And all the kings of the earth brought at his command wealth unto that sacrifice. All of them consented to become distributors of food and gifts unto the Brahmanas that were fed on the occasion.

Heavy tributes in the form of valuable gifts will be brought over by the defeated kings who will utilise that to distribute food for Brahmins on behalf of the emperor.

At that sacrifice king Harishchandra gave away unto all who asked, wealth that was five times what each had solicited. At the conclusion of the sacrifice, the king gratified the Brahmanas that came from various countries with large presents of various kinds of wealth.

The king should offer five times the wealth that was asked to the Brahmins.

The Brahmanas gratified with various kinds of food and enjoyable articles, given away unto them to the extent of their desires, and with the heaps of jewels distributed amongst them, began to say,--King Harischandra is superior to all kings in energy and renown.--

Brahmins thus gratified in every way will bless the king..in superlatives.

The king then will have to offer arghya to whomever he consider the best among those present. Yudhishtir did this offering to Krishna on Bhishma’s suggestion.

On the completion of this procedure, the king will be accepted as Samrat, the Emperor Who is superior to all the kings on earth.

Avabhridha snan

The king will be bathed by the waters from all the rivers during the sacrifice..it is called avabhridha snan.

In comparison Aswamedha differs in procedure.
