Indian struggle for freedom against British Imperialism :-
1) The Indian national movement for freedom was the result of colonialism, which brought a sense of brotherhood among the citizens of our country and also brought people together from different sections of society to fight against the colonial atrocities.
2) The main reason behind the struggle was the oppressive British policies and exploitation of the country to meet the colonial needs.
3) Mass movements like Civil Disobedience Movement, Non- Cooperation Movement, Khilafat Movement etc united the people of all communities and religions together in the struggle for freedom.
4) Prominent leaders of Indian freedom struggle were Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Lala Lajpat Rai, Subhash Chandra Bose etc.
5) India gained independence on 15th August 1947 and became a sovereign independent country.
