Answer:

                 Critical Analysis of poem Punishment

"Punishment" is based on a real occasion in 1951 when the body of a young lady was found in a marsh in Windeby, Germany. The young lady lived in the primary century A.D. As indicated by the Roman researcher Tacitus, Germanic individuals rebuffed ladies blamed for infidelity by shaving their heads, once in a while tormenting them, and at times killing them.

In the poem, the artist envisions the minutes prior to her demise, the pull at the neckline around her neck and the breeze shaking her body. The artist at that point returns to the present and envisions seeing her being uncovered. He thinks about how excellent she more likely than not been almost 2,000 years back. At that point the writer says, had he been there, he would have remained by, said and done nothing.

The poem manages the unforgiving mistreatment of ladies, so this poem has a women's activist analysis of men's chronicled maltreatment of ladies. Be that as it may, the poem is likewise both an acknowledgment and an indictment of the individuals who remain by while others endure. It brings up issues, for example, "had you been alive during the 1850s in America, okay have been at the cutting edge of the abrogation development?" In whenever ever, had you been alive, OK basically maintain the acts of the day, regardless of how pitiless they may be?

Heaney utilizes a ton of enjambment in this poem, which just methods a line that proceeds onto the following line. It is a messed up, stilted style in which the peruser may delay as the line proceeds to the following. The brokenness could apply to the wrecked body of the young lady. The delays cause thanderuser to stop, think about the pictures, and think about what he/she may have done at such periods ever, had he/she been there to observe this discipline.
