Appropriate Curiosity and Inappropriate Curiosity are two important aspects of a child's psychological growth and development.

Appropriate curiosity refers to the kind of curiosity kids develop towards everyday objects and phenomena, such the various sounds of birds and insects, the variety of colours, and so on.

Inappropriate curiosity, on the other hand, refers to a child's curiosity towards concepts associated with physical intimacy or reproduction per se. As Freud mentions in his book The Interpretation of Dreams, children are subconsciously in need of intimacy for acceptance and adoration from hir or her or their parents. Although such an explanation is yet to gather enough momentum to be passed off as rational, a child's curiosity towards physical intimacy is a normal concept. However, society and family are established in a manner so that children are not involved in any harmful acitivities due to their inappropriate curiosity.
