Toto is a very active and sharp monkey. He is always planning some mischief. He takes special delight in scaring old ladies. He tears the wallpaper of the closet in which it was kept; when he is transferred to the cage with other animals, he gave them lots of troubles with his mischiefs.
The Grandfather when takes Toto to Saharanpur, there he scares the ticket-collector by popping his head out of the bag and grinning at him. The ticket-collector get annoyed at the discovery and asserted that the grandfather would have to pay for Toto’s fare.
Toto also gives troubles to Nana, the donkey. His sharpness can be judged from the fact that when he finds hot water, he gets into it to take bath. He first checks the hotness of water before jumping into the hot water bowl.
