the industrial sector has a major stake in the consumption of water from the tungabhadra basin .the demand for the water from the basin has beenon the rise tooo. 80%of the population of that region is reliant on agriculture which is water consuming the ap part of the basin that is located in lower part has lower rainfall and affected by drought conditions. lack of wnough green cover lead to water run off..
