problems caused by over population-
1. depletion of natural resources
mother nature has given us limited natural resources, which are getting used up at a very fast pace as a result of over population. resources are getting used up faster than they can be restored.
2. unemployment
unemployment increases with over population as there are limited jobs which cannot support everyone.
3. environmental degradation
rise in factories, over use of resources, deforestation etc are affecting the environment enormously. rise in carbon gases has lead to global warming, thinning of ozone layer, increase in temperature, unpredictable weather conditions and natural disasters.
4. increase in poverty, crime, illiteracy, inflation, starvation
increased population means a low standard of living and thus increasing poverty and crime. high demand and low supply results in poverty and starvation.
5. wars and conflicts
depleting resources, rising needs has created a situation of tension in the world. countries are fighting over resources, land, water etc.
solution of these problems-
1. population control and family planning
first and foremost step in tackling the overpopulation issue is population control. steps should be taken to ensure it doesnt increase to gigantic proportions in the coming years. China had adopted policy of 1 child per couple to keep its rising population from growing more.
2. better education
education is a tool of social change. educating people about benefits of a small family can lead to population control.
3. birth control
making teens and adults aware of various methods of contraception can create awareness among them and thus can lead to control of population.
