People practice and promote social evils because they are ignorant of the adversities. There are lots of NGOs and INGOs which are working to eliminate social problems. There are many social problems and evils caused by superstition. Some are listed below -

  1. Deaths - Sometimes deaths are caused due to some superstitions. Ex- In the medieval period of some European countries, tens of thousands of harmless men, women and children were executed because of silly superstitions about witchcraft.
  2. Unemployment - Some people are unemployed because some people believe they will cause bad luck to them.
  3. Discrimination - Some people discriminate others on the basis of superstition.
