My mother tongue is Tamil, but I am only moderately fluent in the language. I can do basic reading and writing, but I am very much illiterate in Tamil.
Obviously, I know English, since I am writing this answer, and I speak a dialect that might be typical of the Midwestern US.
I am currently learning Russian and Romanian in the little free time that I have. I want to learn Russian, because I want to study abroad there when I am in college, and also to satisfy my Russophilia. I am learning Romanian because I am very much fascinated about Romania and its distant connections to the other Romance languages.
At school, I am taking a Spanish class, but my ability to speak Spanish is so poor, that I can barely hold the simplest of conversations. I want to learn Spanish more in the future, because of how useful it is where I live.
