Construction work on Al Ain’s Jebel Hafeet School that the Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) is working on is 58% complete, with the project —being built at a cost of $31.9m (AED117.3m) — progressing according to the agreed construction plan.

The UAE’s state-held news agency, Wam, citied Musanada, who said  that the school is being built on a plot in the northern part of the Jebel Hafeet area and covers an area of 38,400m2, which includes 12,500m2 area for the complex.

According to Musanada, the C1 and KG Jebel Hafeet School in Al Ain is being developed in line with Package 2 of the Abu Dhabi Future Schools Programme Phase 7.

The ground plus one-storey complex will accommodate up to 1,490 students, including 1,250 C1 and 240 kindergarten students.

Once completed the school will be home to 62 classrooms, including 12 for KG, two classrooms for arts and music, a library, in addition to administrative offices, a multipurpose hall, a dining hall, external playgrounds, a car park, and external landscaping.

Musanada revealed that it will use the latest electromechanical systems, including air conditioning and firefighting systems, in line with Department of Education and Knowledge’s (ADEK) design manual and requirements.

Through the course of construction, Musanada will focus on eco-sustainability requirements and preserving multiple energy sources. The firm will follow the two-pearl sustainability rating specified by the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities.

In September 2019, Musanada collaborated with ADEK to construct six schools in Bani Yas, Al Rahba, Al Riyadh, Al Dhaher, Al Bahia, and Shiab Al Ashkhar under a $272.2m (AED1bn) programme in Abu Dhabi.
