The plant on the basis of form can be classified into three categories:- Herbs, Shrubs and Trees.

Explanation:

  • Herbs:-  These plants are non-woody and short in size. The stem is green in colour and delicate. They are generally branchless or have few branches. Example:- Tomato, grass etc.
  • Shrubs:- The plants are medium in size. The woody plants are taller than herbs but shorter than trees and have may branches. Example:- Roses, Lemon etc.
  • Trees:- They are woody big and tall plants. The stem is thick and hard and called a trunk. They have a single main stem arising from the trunk and it may bear branches. Example:- Mango, Banyan etc.
