a) Introduction. As you know, “First impression is the best impression”. So, the initial few seconds of your speech is going to decide whether the audience is going to listen to your full speech. You can be a bit dramatic to catch the attention of audience. (b) Background. To support your introduction, come up with a good background to your idea. Here you may say why you are going to speak about the topic. (c) Facts. No speech is complete without giving facts. Like an age old saying, “A good speech is like a pencil. It has to have a point”. So the main things 2 ABECEDARY ACTIVITIES that you want to emphasise in your speech comes here. (d) Involving audience. Good, your audience is listening to you carefully, and you have succeeded till now. Give them a feeling of ownership. Tell them to do something, or ask a question. This will make the audience be more involved in your speech. (e) Conclusion. A good conclusion is as important a good introduction. Make it a bit dramatic if you want. Sum it up nicely for your audience. Time Limit – The speech must be completed within three to five minutes. Note – Things covered in this document will be covered by the teacher in class. Enough examples will be taught to you so that you are confident of attempting a speech
