A report on Dr. B. R. Ambedkar

B. R. Ambedkar (1891 – 1956) was born in Mhow, currently in Madhya Pradesh. He was a freedom fighter, social reformer, politician, and economist who played a very important role in the upliftment of lower casts in India known as the Dalits, women and labourers. He actively involved himself in this movement by leading political activities, campaigns and negotiations. He fought for the social freedom and rights of the lower class.

He was a renowned scholar who held doctorates from the London School of Economics and the Columbia University. He was conferred the Bharat Ratna by the Government of India in 1950.
