2) cause&effect of global warming
3) prevention measures to stop global warming.

Green house effect:
➸The greenhouse effect is a naturally occurring phenomenon, that is responsible for the heating of earth surface and atmosphere.
➸When the solar radiation falls on earth surface heating it, while a small proportion is reflected back. Earth surface re-emits heat in the form of infrared radiation but part of this does not escape into space as atmospheric gases (e.g., carbon dioxide, methane, etc.) absorb a major fraction of it.
➸The molecules of these gases radiate heat energy, and a major part of which again comes to earths surface, thus heating it up once again.
➸This cycle is repeated many a times. Increase in the level of greenhouse gases has led to considerable heating of earth leading to global warming.
cause&effect of global warming:
Effects;
- Odd climatic changes are one of the major climatic changes leading to the increased melting of polar ice caps as well as of other places like the Himalayan snow caps.
- Disruption of habitats such as coral reefs and meadows could drive many plant and animal species to extinction.
- The sea level has been rising more quickly over the last century.
- Depletion of ozone layer leads to increase in temperature.
Causes;
- Global warming is caused due to the excess presence of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and ozone in the atmosphere.
- Burning of coal and petroleum products produce carbon dioxide, which is a greenhouse gas.
- Deforestation reduces the number of trees which convert carbon dioxide into oxygen by photosynthesis and thus, the amount of carbon dioxide in atmosphere increases.
- Methane is a greenhouse gas, so it also causes global warming.
Measures to control global warming:
Deforestation is a contributor to global warming and is often cited as one of the major causes of the enhanced greenhouse effect. Tropical deforestation is responsible for approximately 20% of world greenhouse gas emissions. Burning fossil fuels increases the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. CO2 is a major contributor to climate change or global warming.
