I am working so hard since morning and as I skipped my breakfast right now, I am feeling as hungry as a wolf.

I need to munch in my lunch.

These are similes and are used in a sentence that has resemblance between different kind of things having same meaning.

My son skipped breakfast this morning just so that he could sleep in a little longer.

However, he was as hungry as a wolf  by lunch time.

A simile is a figure of speech that describes something by making a comparison between one person or thing and another of a different kind using the word as or like.
