here's a short story.

(please note to write the start line before you continue with this story).

...I turned around and saw something in the distance, I thought to myself that it must have been something in the dark. I continued my pace fastening up a bit so I could reach home as fast as possible. I didn't think too much about this incident until a few days later when I was at my friends house enjoying a late night drink. It was a small party, with just two other families. One was the Dushnas, married for almost 20 years with a few kids and the other the Karwalas, newly wed and they quarreled, a lot. I narrated my incident to them and they all confirmed on what had happened to me. It was the ghost of Robins Wife. I hadn't heard of this tale until today. The story goes that, Robin was a colonel of the British empire. He had married a pretty village girl. They lived on a bunglow for quite some time. Until one day when he met a lady from the west. Feeling that he must share some of his riches with her. He went ahead gave her a home too and started spending some time with her. They say she was so sad that she jumped off the bridge close by and killed herself.

I was thoroughly spooked, I didnt sleep well for a few days. But life continues as usual and I soon forgot about this. In fact I hadn't remembered this until I met the ghost in person. It was a foggy night and as I was walking along the lonely path, suddenly out of the corner she popped out. I was startled but she jsut stood there. Not speaking a word. I tried to go around but which ever way I moved, she stood there. I had to spend the night under a tree.

Next morning I was woken up by a jogger, who asked me why I was sleeping there on the ground. I was startled and looked around as he told me that I was so lucky to be alive that day. Turns out, few steps ahead the path had collapsed with huge gorge in front of me.

I sighed with relief, as I knew that I was to live, atleast for some more days.

Thanks, If this story feels familiar please note that i kinda took a few ideas from ruskin bonds book. Sry about that, feel free to change that if u want.
