“True Strength Lies From Within,” it is for me one of the most important aspects of my life and one of the things that I believe in. It is something that I have previously written about and expressed vocally. It is what helps me get through the struggles of life and my future. Whether those struggles are realizing I need to write this essay, to dealing with other people that I don’t wish to deal with, to simply dealing with problems that arise every day and that will eventually arise. Although there have been several time where I have searched within myself, one story I would like to share is reaching outside of my comfort zone and joined the high school gaming club my sophomore year.
As a freshman, I choose to stick to my strict, redundant routine: get up in the morning, ride the bus to school, go to classes, ride the bus home, do my homework, eat supper, play video games, go to bed; get up; repeat Monday through Friday. When challenged to do something different, I could not do it. I didn’t realize that I could be missing out on things I would enjoy. Even though, my parents suggested I join a club or find a sport to take part in, I chose not to. I have just given up four years of karate. I actually found some time for myself and just wanted to be alone and do my own thing. In my sophomore year, after more encouragement from family and friends, I decided to step outside my comfort zone and join the gaming club. What I found out was that it was worth my time and so much fun. I realized I had missed out on meeting a new friends and bond deeper with others I knew. Had I not reached within myself to find the strength to risk trying a new routine and break out of an old habit, I would not be starting my third year in this club and have one of the best times of my life.
To some this may seem like an ordinary story, but for me it is a reality of my life and the sense of how some people live their lives; but, I refuse to let my life be centered on that repetitive routine I often find myself in. I have to figure out how to do things my own way by finding the flame to fuel me through difficult times and taking new risks. This is why “True Strength Lies From Within,” is so important quote for me to live up to. Searching within however one chooses to define this “Strength Within” is a personal choice; but, when found one should take hold and enjoy it to the fullest because one may never know where it will lead.
