To form the table,

we substitute some value of x to find its value of y

When x = -2,

⇒ y = 1/2(-2) - 3 = -4

When x = - 1

⇒ y = 1/2(-1) - 3 = -3.5

When x = 0.

⇒ y = 1/2(0) - 3 = -3

When x = 1

⇒ y = 1/2(1) - 3 = -2.5

When x = 2

⇒ y = 1/2(2) - 3 = -2
