• The list of important national parks in India is attached as a screenshot.  
• The Tiger population in India is facing a lot of problems. This is mainly due to the complex ecological constraints raised on them by humans like poaching, Hunting, encroachment and rapid urbanization.
• In order to protect the tiger population in India, Project Tiger, a conservatory program was launched by the then Prime Minister Indra Gandhi in the year 1973.  
• The program stressed the importance of protecting Tigers in their natural habitat and providing them with adequate life support measures. Many international organizations bestowed funds to India and the mission was a huge success.
