  • Anton Van Leeuwenhoek:- He was known for his discovery of living cells in the year 1683.
  • Robert Brown:- He was known for his discovery of the nucleus in the year 1831. The nucleus was discovered in plant cells.
  • Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann:- They were the first two scientists to state the cell theory in the year 1839. They stated that "All living things are made of cells and cell products."
  • Rudolph Virchow:- He is known for giving final shape to cell theory and states that "All cells arise from pre-existing cells."
