The Mona Lisa is on display in Louvre, Paris & is publicly owned, meaning it is not available for purchase or sale.
2. Primavera: In Italian, the term implies spring.  Primavera is a painting by Sandro Botticelli's. The painting is often referred to as "Spring Allegory." The use of colour and various explanations applied to this painting is popular. The most controversial painting in the world is claimed to be Primavera.
3. The Last Supper: The Last Supper is a major Renaissance painting regarded as the finest work by Leonardo Da Vinci in the year 1498. For his last supper, the picture depicts Jesus and his disciples. The painting is known to use colour , light & anatomy cleverly.
4. The Kiss of Judas: Created by Giotto di Bondone in the year 1306, this painting portrays the moment in which Judas Iscariot betrays Jesus, when he embraces Jesus by kissing him so as to assist the Roman soldiers in identifying Jesus. Several critics think Giotto is a genius and no artist can surpass his work. This mastery  is apparent in the manner in which he captured Jesus & Judas' speech in this scene of treason.
5. The School of Athens: It was "painted on the walls" of the "Apostolic Palace" in the Vatican in  the year 1511 & stands one of the 4 major frescoes. The 4 frescos symbolise metaphysical, literary, theological and juridical sciences. The painting symbolises philosophy because the painting, as Aristotle & Plato can be found in the centre of the picture, is a reflection of the best period of Greek philosophy. The "classical spirit" of the Renaissance was captured by this painting
